Hello and Welcome

I'm so pleased to introduce you to my website and to establish permanent visual contact and dialog with my collectors.

I'm an artist and portraitist living and painting in Paris , France and sometimes Los Angeles and Miami, Florida. Portrait painting is my first love due to a life long recherché to gain insight into the human spirit. Portrait artists are forever inquisitive students of life, observing what evokes and forms a look, posture, a sparkle in the corner of the eye, the Moma Lisa smile…the most profound feelings and spirit of the subject. My oil paintings combine classical order in contemporary art.

I've been a copiest, as well as a portraitist in the Louvre. It is a venerable tradition going back to 1793 when the museum opened. Rubens, Dali , Picasso, Michelangelo , Delacroix , Chagall , Cazanne and so so many more have all copied in the Louvre .{ Delacroix copied Rubens, Manet copied Velazquez , and Leger copied Leonard da Vinci, for a tiny example}. It's also the best and most fulfilling teacher and one of the most inspiring places to be. A wide and mixed understanding of painterly languages have been given to me through this cognitive and endless learning process of many years spent learning classical painting { narritive painting} - directly from the widely varied masters themselves .

Strangely enough, sitting for 2 to 3 months before them, you feel they've become a friend having shared many secrets…I feel they speak directly to me - whispering in my ear - when I'm coping a painting in the Louvre . And still sometimes I'm moved to tears before a painting as I bring it to life.
